A pair of antique Austrian 25 bore flintlock pistol, mid-18th century. Etched twist barrels, each with tapering sighting flat. Inlaid with solver foliate scroll and chiselled with foliage at the breech, 28cm. Overall length 41cm. Tangs numbered 1 and 2 respectively. Right flat bevelled locks with blued faceted pans. Top jaws, screws and steel springs figured moulded. Full stock numbered 99 and 100 respectively above the tail of each lock plate and carved with rocailles and foliage behind each rear ramrod pipe and barrel tang. Rounded birds head butts, brass mounts of shaped outline comprising bevelled side plates. Vacant escutcheons butt caps each engraved (no.12) D shaped trigger guard, for end caps and faceted ramrod pipes. Blued trigger plates and triggers. Possibly later horn topped ramrods and retaining some original blued and burnished finish.
