A Cased 54 Bore Adams Model 1851 Percussion Self Cocking Revolver, Circa 1854. London proofed 15cm octagonal barrel, the top flat inscribed DEANE ADAMS & DEANE, 30 KING WILLIAM ST, LONDON BRIDGE. Chequered one piece walnut grips with stepped oval butt cap, with much charcoal blue remaining. Cased in its correct purple velvet lined and partitioned oak case, accessories include correct Adams double cavity mould for ball and conical bullet, with Adams registered design stamp, a copper bodied pistol flask by Dixon, and a pewter oil bottle. This is a late example of an Adams Model 1851 revolver made circa 1854 and built on the improved Adams frame that was later used on the early Beaumont Adams revolvers produced from 1855.
