A Cased 50 Bore Tranter Second Model Double Trigger Percussion Revolver Retailed By B. Cogswell circa 1856 with 15.5cm barrel, overall length 32cm. Octagonal sighted barrel, the top strap engraved B. COGSWELL 224 STRAND LONDON, fitted with Tranters second model detachable loading lever, borderline and scroll engraved frame, five shot cylinder with roped band decoration. In its correct green baize lined and partitioned walnut case, vacant circular lid escutcheon, accessories include a double cavity mould, a copper bodied pistol flask, pewter oil bottle, cleaning rod, a labelled tin for Joyces caps, a turn screw and nipple key. Yellow parchment Cogswell trade label inside lid. The case in good condition.
