This antique is the first type of ceremonial sword used by the Knights of Columbus and dates from the early 20th century. The manufacturer is unknown and there are no visible marks of any kind. The blade does not have any etching or engraving on it and is in fantastic condition. The crossguard has floral designs along with the emblem of the Knights of Columbus and the letters K of C in the centre. The hilt has a black handle and a pommel in the form of a flying eagle, one of the identifying features of a 1st pattern sword. The steel scabbard has some rust pitting and chips to the silver lacquer. Overall Length - 38". Blade Length - 30"
