Late 17th Century Savoy Partisan. With broad terminal blade, formed with a medial ridge and a pair of upturned lugs. Engraved over the greater part of its surface with scrolling foliage and charged with a gilt cross device of Savoy in a roundel at the base on each side. Tapering socket fitted at the front with an upturned scallop hook, a pair of long straps securing to the wooden haft, the latter studded with brass nails. Historic woodworm throughout. Overall length 195cm.
