An Antique 12 Bore Shotgun By J. Purdey. With heavy barrels for both shot and ball. 75cm damascus twist barrels, signed on the top rib J. Purdey Princes Street, Leicester Square, London. Engraved and signed lock Purdey also the same engraving on the hammers, trigger guard, butt plate, pineapple finial and ramrod pipe. Stocked in best walnut, chequered at grip with a vacant escutcheon. The stock is beautifully figured, probably the best we are likely to see. In its original green re-lined case, having an original Purdey flask, ball mould, spring clamp, percussion caps, double cleaning rod, shot belt, screwdriver, nipple key. Princes Street label on the lid.
