A Cased 54 Bore Percussion Tranter Patent Double Action Five Shot Revolver Finished and Retailed By J. Purdey, 314 Oxford St. Circa 1860. With 15cm octagonal sighted barrel engraved around the muzzle and with scrolling foliage on each side of the breech. Border engraved top-strap signed in full J. Purdey, 314 Oxford St. London, Cylinder with knurled forward edge, border engraved frame, trigger guard, butt-cap and patent rammer all decorated en suite, hinged safety-stop, arbor pin and sprung catch, chequered rounded butt, and traces of original blueing.

In original lined and fitted mahogany case with full accessories including G. & J.W. Hawksley powder flask with split-ring for suspension and retaining most of its lacquered finish, brass bullet mould numbered 3001, and turned bone nipple box. Having a screwdriver, a nipple key, and an oil bottle. Also present in the box are percussion cap tins, lubricated bullet tins, bullet lubricant and of course the clearing rod. The exterior of the case with a circular vacant brass escutcheon, London proof marks.
