Product Description

An Antique .700 Percussion Double Barrelled Service Carbine Model Jacobs Pattern for Scinde Irregular Horse. Issued most likely to native cavalry after the mutiny of 1857 as a smooth bore carbine. The lock dated 1853 and with Swinburns patent. With 53cm twist barrels, numbered at the breech, bead foresight, standing rear sight with folding leaves calibrated to 300 yards. Back action locks signed and dated, walnut half stock, the butt stamped 10 over 22. Iron mounts including hinged patch box cover and heel plate. The top spur marked Scinde Irregular Horse. Iron sling mounts, captive ramrod with side saddle bar. Overall length 93cm.
