A Very Rare Pair Of 16 Bore Flintlock Holster Pistols of the Bristol Troop Gloucestershire Militia by Jeffery, circa 1800. With brass two stage swamped 23cm barrels each with turned girdle, octagonal breeches each engraved No. 42 Bristol Troop along the top flat and with a line of beadwork at the rear.
A Very Rare Pair Of 16 Bore Flintlock Holster Pistols of the Bristol Troop Gloucestershire Militia by Jeffery, circa 1800. With brass two stage swamped 23cm barrels each with turned girdle, octagonal breeches each engraved No. 42 Bristol Troop along the top flat and with a line of beadwork at the rear.
Border engraved tangs, bright flat bevelled locks each signed in script, sparsely engraved at the stepped tail, and with roller, figured full stocks with rounded flat sided butts. Border engraved brass mounts comprising ovoidal side nail plates, butt-caps, trigger guards each with acorn finial and decorated with a flower head on the border engraved bow, vacant brass escutcheons, turned ramrod pipes, and wooden ramrods each with iron worm, one without its horn tip. Tower private proof marks.
