An antique Flintlock Brass Mounted Blunderbuss Pistol By Jover, London, Circa 1770 With two stage barrel 16cm engraved HAPPY IS HE THAT ESCAPES ME at the flared muzzle, and LONDON along the breech flat, plain tang, rounded lock signed in capitals, rounded cock with safety catch behind, figured full stock, border engraved mounts comprising flat scroll side plate decorated with foliage, vacant escutcheon with acorn above, spurred pommel with a flower head centred on the retaining screw, trigger guard with a flower head on the bow and secured by a screw through the finial, brass ramrod pipe and associated horn tipped ramrod with steel worm, Tower private proof marks, overall length 31 1/2cm.
