An antique pair of percussion boxlock blunderbuss pistols by W Bond of Lomard St, London.
An antique pair of percussion boxlock blunderbuss pistols by W Bond of Lomard St, London. Converted from flintlock with belted two stage cannon barrels and actions in one piece. Side mounted ramrods and spring bayonet beneath. Barrels 13.5cm, overall length 27cm. Border engraved octagonal breeches and actions signed on both sides against martial trophy on both sides. Safety catches on top. Sliding trigger guards also acting as bayonet release. Figured flat sided rounded butts and vacant silver escutcheons. William Thomas Bond is recorded at 59 Lombatd St, London from 1803 to 1836. After his death his widow carried on in business.
