What Does PPU Mean?
If you are unfamiliar with the name, you may be asking what is PPU? PPU stands for Prvi Partizan, Uzice. PPU are an ammunition and component manufacturer based in Uzice, Serbia.
The company has been manufacturing small arms ammunition since 1928 and are known for their high quality rifle bullets and ammunition, handgun, pistol and revolver ammunition plus cases and blanks - all produced using innovative solutions and state of the art equipment.
Prvi Partizan in the UK
Henry Krank are proud to have been the exclusive UK stockists of a wide range of PPU brass, PPU bullets and more for several years.

PPU Bullet Profiles Explained
Z-GROM (Lead Free)
The PPU Z-Grom is a new take on lead free ammunition. This bullet is made of a copper alloy with a small tin core, giving it the weight and performance of a traditional lead cored bullet.
Soft Point Bullets (SP)
Standard bullets designed to provide controlled expansion when penetrating. This is accomplished by the soft lead exposed in the nose that initiates expansion and by the progressively tapered jacket in its ogival part which provides uniform mushrooming and good penetration.
Pointed Soft Point Bullets (PSP)
Featuring a sharp lead nose which causes bullet expansion upon impact and an aerodynamically shaped ogvial part, which provides better ballistic coefficients and maximum striking energy at longer ranges.
Soft Point Boat Tail Bullets (SP BT)
Have a specially shaped back part with reduced diameter (boat tail) that lowers air drag. The better ballistic coefficients of these bullets allow successful shooting at longer distances at which the bullet maintains striking energy with reduced wind drift and a flatter trajectory.
Pointed Soft Point Boat Tail Bullets (PSP BT)
These have a specially shaped back part with reduced diameter (boat tail) that lowers air drag. The better ballistic coefficients of these bullets allow successful shooting at longer distances at which the bullet maintains striking energy with reduced wind drift and a flatter trajectory.
Soft Point Round Nose Bullets (SP RN)
Featuring a blunt rounded nose and are suitable for short range shooting, especially in the bushes or woods. The large lead weight exposed in the nose assures high energy impact and bullet mushrooming that is reliable even at lower velocities. These bullets have larger weights depending on length.
Flat Nosed Soft Point Bullets (FSP)
A flat lead nose with increased diameter. These bullets are suitable for use in carbines with tubular magazines as they reduce the possibility of primer ignition in the cartridge placed in front due to recoil when firing. They expand reliably and penetrate deeply on light to medium game. HSP bullets have a cavity in the nose that causes expansion and helps mushrooming during penetration.
Hollow Point Bullets (HP)
These bullets are designed primarily for shooting competitions. Due to a cavity in the nose, the centre of gravity is placed back which improves flight stability and accuracy. Hollow point bullets initiate rapid expansion on impact.
Hollow Point Boat Tail Bullets (HP BT)
Bullets that have higher ballistic coefficients because of their smaller meplat, long ogvial and boat tail design. These features enable very accurate long range shooting with flat trajectories and reduced wind drift.
Full Metal Jacket Rifle Bullets (FMJ)
Non-expanding bullets with a full-length jacket operated at the base only. Due to their sharp nose, these bullets provide good penetration. They are suitable for target shooting, but also for varmint hunting as they cause minimum tissue damage and leave a small exit hole.
Full Metal Jacket Round Nose Bullets (FMJ RN)
Rounded nose, suitable for short range shooting. They provide maximum penetration when hunting dangerous game.
Full Metal Jacket Boat Tail Bullets (FMJ BT)
These are specially shaped bullets designed to reduce air resistance. The rear cone in combination with an aerodynamically shaped ogvial part provide high ballistic coefficients, slight velocity drops on the trajectory, greater down-range energy and less drift as well.
Rifle Match Bullets
Hollow Point Boat Tail Bullets (HP BT)
Have higher ballistic coefficients because of their smaller meplat, long ogvial and boat tail design. These features enable very accurate long range shooting with flat trajectories and reduced wind drift.
