A rare cased 27 bore percussion double barreled pistol by J. Purdey of 314 & 1/2 Oxford Street, London circa 1833. With brown twist sighted barrels, border engraved breeches each with short platinum line and engraved with a starburst between, long border engraved tang decorated with a marshall trophy and with foliate scorlls either side of the sighting groove, the latter engraved with a starburst, border engraved rounded back action locks each signed in full.

Product Description

Decorated with foliate scroll work, with blued safety catch engaging with the rear of each foliate engraved hammer which retain their burnished finish, ebonised half stock with checkered rounded butt, the latter with rounded butt trap engraved with a ropework border and with hinged cover decorated with a flower head, border engraved trigger guard retaining some blueing on the inside and decorated with a marshall trophy on the bore, trigger plate with pineapple finial checkered forward trigger, vacant silver escuchteon and barrel bolt escutcheons, stirrup ramrod, in a lined and fitted mahogany case including Sykes brass mounted powder flask retaining much of its lacquered finish, brass powder meausure, steel combination tool, screwdriver, oil bottle, ball mould, patch and percussion cap boxes, the interior of the lid with an original Purdey label, the exterior with a higly figuered veneer and vacant silver escutcheon, London proof marks. Barrel Length - 11.5cm. Overall Length - 27.5cm

Delivery of this item to a UK mainland address starts from £25.00*.
