A civilian court or smallsword from the early Victorian era retailed by J. B. Johnstone of London who operated between 1792 - 1839. The long slender blade is etched with floral designs along with the royal crown and VR cypher. There is some pitting towards the top third of the blade. The gilt brass hilt is complete and the twistwire on the grip is intact. The scallop-shaped langet bear the cypher of Queen Victoria. The black leather scabbard retaines its brass chape and collar on the rear of which the owners name is engraved - W. H. Flogan.
Blade Length - 82cm. Overall Length - 95cm.
