A very rare pair of 20-bore flintlock right and left handed, flat-fronted Queen Anne pistols signed Clarkson, London, no visible serial numbers, circa 1730, with turn-off iron banded 6 1/2in. cannon-barrels.In working order.

A very rare pair of 20-bore flintlock right and left handed, flat-fronted Queen Anne pistols signed Clarkson, London, no visible serial numbers, circa 1730, with turn-off iron banded 6 1/2in. cannon-barrels.
The breeches with CLARKSON, LONDON and London proofs, moulded bands forwards of the solid engraved and pointed top-tangs, flat border engraved bevel-edged locks with en-suite swan-necked cocks, engraved pan edges and recumbent L shaped frizzen springs with CLARKSON signatures below.
Walnut half-stocks (one cracked through and well repaired at wrist), shell-carved aprons and teardrops behind the locks and sideplates, brass furniture including short-tailed bulbous butt-caps moulded with foliate designs in relief, sideplates engraved with musical trophies and engraved flat front-plates, rococo escutcheons to wrists, no provision for ramrods. In working order.
