A pair of Spanish flintlock pistols of 22-bore having part octagonal, part round barrels engraved and stamped G FERNADES. A horse and royal crown (see Stockel page 365) top tang of the barrel is also nicely engraved, lock engraved G B ZVGNO, hammer with chisel engraving, frizzen engraved, waterproof pans.
All of the furniture is in silver including side plate, trigger guard, butt cap, two ramrod pipes and the ends of the ramrods. Royal escutcheon in silver at the wrists. It is not often a pair of pistols of this quality and in this condition come up for sale.Barrel Length - 25cm. Overall Length - 41cm.
