A .750 calibre flintlock volunteer short land pattern Brown Bess musket with 42inch sighted barrel incised No 115, border and scroll engraved bevelled lock signed BELL OF YORK, full stocked with regulation Long Land pattern brass mounts, the left side of the butt stamped YC (York City) over 80, brass topped wooden ramrod. In good working order.
**There is a discussion that suggests the Blues of York were issued with these muskets in preparation for defence against the Jacobite Rebellion in 1745.
