A Prussian artillery officers sword from the early 20th century. This type of sword was used by German / Prussian atrillery officers in the build up to WW1. This example has its original metaL scabbard with some wear but plenty of its original black finish remaining. The hilt is brass and has a solid knuckleguard. The fishskin grip is held in place with decorative brass twistwire. The slim blade has a gentle curve to it and a fuller that is almost full length. There is very fine etching still clearly visable with various floral motifs along with several military designs including a pair of crossed cannons. There is some pitting towards the tip of the blade.
Overall Length - 93cm. Blade Length - 78cm.
