A Pair Of 32 Bore Percussion Duelling Pistols by W. H Wilson of 1 Vigo Lane circa 1810. Converted from flintlock, with brown twist octagonal sighted 25cm barrels each signed in full along the top flat. Overall length 39cm.
A Pair Of 32 Bore Percussion Duelling Pistols by W. H Wilson of 1 Vigo Lane circa 1810. Converted from flintlock, with brown twist octagonal sighted 25cm barrels each signed in full along the top flat. Overall length 39cm. Breeches each with gold line, tangs each with backsight and finely engraved with martial trophy and foliage.
Signed border engraved flat detanted locks each decorated with foliage on the tail and with engraved safety catch. Foliate engraved dolphin hammers, figured half stocks, with chequered rounded butts, spur trigger guards each engraved with a martial trophy and foliage on the bow. Trigger plates each with pineapple finial. Adjustable set triggers and later ramrods. London proof marks.
William Henry Wilson was a goldsmith, silver plater, and dealer in guns and is recorded at Number 1 Vigo Lane, Piccadilly between 1802 and 1825.
