An antique Cased 80 Bore Five Shot Percussion Prize Revolver by James Worrall of Four Gate Street, Chester. Presented by Mrs J Worrall to the Chester Rifle Volunteers on October 1st 1860 and won by Mr J G Churton. The gun has octagonal sighted, silver plated barrel engraved with the band around the muzzle, signed by the maker over the forward position of the flat. Stamped Patent in capital on the left and inscribed JG Churton within a frame of foliage. Silver framed engraved side plates with foliage, grapes and vines. Plain numbered cylinder and a finley checkered butt and a silver engraved butt plate. In untouched condition with much silver remaining. Presented in its original mahogany case, lined in blue velvet which has some small wear to it. Trade label for James Worrall on the inside fitted with large presentation plaque on the external of the case. Complete with accessories, including bullet mould, screw cutter, a silver plated priming flask by Dickson and Sons, oil bottle, turnscrew and clearing rod. Barrel length is 11cm. Overall length 25cm. A true collectors piece!
