This is a nice example of a combination tool designed for use with the Austrian Model 1854 Lorenz Rifle Musket. Thousands of these tools were imported by both sides during the American Civil War. The Y shaped multi-tool includes a cone (nipple) wrench in the base, a screwdriver on one of the fixed arms and a punch on the opposing arm. A hole is punched in the center of the tool allowing a thong to be inserted to aid in carrying the tool, should the soldier so desire.
