An interesting pair of 30-bore flintlock holster pistols by Turner of Oxford having Indonesian barrels profusely chiselled with scrolling foliage, courtly and religious figures or deities, the whole highlighted in silver from the muzzle to the vine chiselled barrel tangs, border engraved bevelled locks signed TURNER OXFORD.
Barrel Length - 36cm. Overall Length - 54cm.
An interesting pair of 30-bore flintlock holster pistols by Turner of Oxford having Indonesian barrels profusely chiselled with scrolling foliage, courtly and religious figures or deities, the whole highlighted in silver from the muzzle to the vine chiselled barrel tangs, border engraved bevelled locks signed TURNER OXFORD.
Full stocked with plain iron trigger guards, the flared slab-sided butts with scrolling silver wire inlay to the sides, border engraved broad tapering butt caps engraved with the crest of the Earls of Crawford. The attribution of the crest pertains to a handwritten note in one of the barrels but is not conclusive.
Barrel Length - 36cm. Overall Length - 54cm.
Provenance - See lot 95 Fine Antique Firearms from the W. Keith Neal Collection, Bonhams 2005. A John Turner of Oxford is recorded as a gunsmith in Oxford circa 1760.

Delivery of this item to a UK mainland address is £34.90.
The delivery charge may vary if you add other items to your order.
For UK deliveries, if you place your order before 13:00pm, you should receive your order the next working day in the morning via Parcel Force. We do not dispatch guns on a Friday.

WILL I NEED TO SIGN FOR MY ORDER?
Yes, your parcel will need to be signed for. Delivery will be via Parcel Force in the morning. The parcel may not be left without a signature. If you are unavailable to take delivery, Parcel Force will leave a card for you. Simply follow the instructions on the card to arrange redelivery or collection from a depot.
