If you're thinking of buying a Uberti 1873, this is the blog for you.

The 1873 lever action rifle by Uberti is one of our most popular products, and one of the most popular recreational rifles in the UK. A copy of the Winchester 1873, Uberti have faithfully reproduced this famous rifle, now available for purchase on a firearms certificate.

Henry Krank & Co. are the sole UK agents for Uberti rifles. We have been selling these rifles for over 40 years and they are consistently one of our most popular products. Spare parts are readily available, and we do our best to constantly have in stock every Uberti 1873 offering, though we do have regular orders several times a year from Uberti, so the right gun is never too far away.

Uberti's 1873 Winchester is every bit as faithful to the original as you might hope for, though manufactured with the benefits of precision CNC machining and modern materials. Made in Italy out of the best quality materials, the Uberti 1873 reproduction is every bit as iconic as it's Winchester predecessor. The Uberti 1873 is produced in over 50 different configurations, from the stock shape, to barrel length and profile, and calibre, so there is a model to suit practically every shooting application.

The Winchester 1873 rifle is one of the most iconic rifles of all time. The so called gun that won the west, the model of 1873 has gone down in history as one of the best rifle designs ever. Developed from the first repeating underlever rifle, the Henry model 1860, the 1873 was the first gun in the Winchester series of underlever rifles to be chambered for the centrefire 44/40 cartridge. With other popular chamberings such as 32/20, this allowed shooters to carry just one type of ammunition, suitable for both their revolver and long gun. The versatility of the 1873 led to its use by all sorts of shooters, from cattle ranchers to sheriffs and outlaws, to militaries. This led to a staggering original production run of nearly a quarter of a million units, produced between 1873 and 1923.

Amongst modern sporting shooters today, the Uberti 1873 remains one of the most popular guns available, and the vast array of configurations available to the shooter lend itself to a variety of disciplines. The Uberti 1873 comes in the following choices:

Uberti 1873 Trapper Carbine

Perfect for cowboy action shooting and turning target competitions is the Uberti 1873 Trapper Carbine, featuring a 16 1/8 barrel, and chambered for either .45 Colt, 44/40, .357 or .38 Special, this short and handy rifle excels at short range target shooting. Being a pistol calibre rifle, recoil is negligible and yet still has the capability to perform at shorter range applications, whilst also being cheap to feed. Stocked in the best quality walnut, with colour case hardened frame and blued round barrel, this rifle looks every bit as good as it shoots.

Uberti 1873 Sporting Rifle

For the more traditionalist shooter, the Uberti 1873 is identical to the original Winchester model. With a 20 half octagonal barrel, hand finished walnut stock and colour case hardened frame, the Uberti 1873 Sporting Rifle faithfully reproduces the original Winchester like no other product on the market. Still with a handy, short barrel, this rifle is perfect for turning targets, cowboy action shooting or some more casual target disciplines.
