What is a timed auction?

Timed auctions differ from traditional live auctions.

In a timed online auction, there is no auctioneer taking bids from a live audience in a room. Instead, listings run over a set time period online with the user being able to set maximum bids on lots.

Our timed auctions will run over a 16 day period giving you plenty of chance to peruse our catalogue and place your bids. Lots can be added to a watchlist so you can be notified when the auction starts, when any new bids are placed and when auctions are coming to an end.

How does bidding work on a timed auction?

Bids are received, in our case, over a 16 day period. You can bid at any point from when the auction opens to when it closes.

As a bidder, you can enter a maximum bid and the system will intelligently bid for you, bidding only enough for you to meet the reserve or stay in the lead.

This means no matter what you're doing on the end date of the auction, the system will take care of everything for you!

Why should I bid in a Henry Krank auction?

You may be wondering what the advantages are of bidding in a Henry Krank auction compared to purchasing an antique on our website.

Well, our auctions are full of antiques that have never been seen on our website. If we have an auction live, be sure to take a look. You’ll be sure to find something that piques your interest!

It also provides you with the chance to acquire an antique at a competitive price.

What happens if I win a lot?

You've followed the above steps and won a lot - fantastic!

But what happens next?

Each auction will have specific Terms & Conditions which we request that you familiarise yourself with before bidding.

After the auction end date, an invoice will be generated for you which we request is paid in full within a set time period. Once payment is received, items must then be collected/shipped within a set period. Please read our auction T&Cs for specific time periods. Additional fees may be incurred if you fail to abide by the T&Cs.

How do I know when the next auction will take place?

We will keep this blog updated with the next date for our auction. Please refer to the first line in this blog for the next auction date.

If you are in our antique mailing list, which you can sign up for here, you will receive an update from ourselves before an auction goes live.

Our future auctions will be listed on The Saleroom, view our auction page here.
