An Antique Wm Marston .32 Rimfire 3 Shot Composite Pistol. An extremely rare rimfire 3 shot pistol, 4 engraved derringer. Serial number 18, circa 1864. With hinged moulded vertical stacked 4 three barrel group with strong traces of silver plating.
An Antique Wm Marston .32 Rimfire 3 Shot Composite Pistol. An extremely rare rimfire 3 shot pistol, 4 engraved derringer. Serial number 18, circa 1864. With hinged moulded vertical stacked 4 three barrel group with strong traces of silver plating. Engraved band at the muzzle and open arabesque scroll engraving at the breech. Small applied crescent foresight, blued rotating dovetailed locking catch with central sighting groove mounted on top of the brass receiver. The side with full American scroll coverage around the details Wm. W. Marston patented May 26 1860 Improved 1864 on the left hand face. Blued rotating barrel selector on the right. Both with traces of silver plating. Spur trigger. External case hardened hammer. Two piece grips of period mother of pearl with more engraving to the back strap. Traces of blue remaining to the iron parts.
According to Fleyderman, out of a production of approximately 3300 pieces, only the first 50 pieces were engraved. This being number 18. Examples with 4 barrel, as opposed to the usual 3 variety are also very rare.
