A pair of 28 bore flintlock, boxlock pocket pistols by P Bond of London circa early 19th century. With brass barrels and border engraved action in one. The former, each with brass ramrod pipes and horn tipped ramrods. Signed on the left in capitals in an oval agaisnt a stamp on each side. Signed London on the right hand side. Thumb peice safety catches which are also locking in steel, steel trigger guards each of which engraved with a flower head, figuered flat sided butts and sheild shaped vacant eschuteons. London proof marks. 10cm barrel Overall Length 20cm. Phillip John Joseph Bond was freeman of the goldsmiths company. In 1781 he is recorded as a gunmaker and sword cutler at 45 cornhill london from 1794 - until the year of his death in 1816.
