A pair of antique Continental .50 bore flintlock pistols with ormolu mounts, mid-18th century. With two stage sighted barrels each turned at the girdle and with octagonal breech, measuring 26.4cms and 27cms barrels. Plain tangs, locks marked Kuchenreuter, moulded figured full stocks each carved in low relief with foliage behind the barrelled tang. Mounts cast and chased with rocailles against punched grounds and comprising side nailed plates, pommels each with short spurs and rounded caps, trigger guards each with swept tang, baluster ramrod pipes, original brass capped ramrods. Overall length of both is 43cms.
