A Continental combined hunting sword miquelet lock pistol from the 18th century. With double edged blade inscribed with No Me Enbaines Vin Honor and No Me Saives Sin Honor within a short fuller on the respective faces framed by scrolls. Fitted on the right of the forte with a small cannon pistol barrel and engraved miquelet lock action. Engraved German silver hilt comprising a pair of quillons with globular terminals. Open work on the outer ring guard, decorated with a central flower. Scroll engraved cap pommel and spiralling carved bone grip bound with twisted wire and ribbon. Blade measuring 61.7cms and overall length of 75.5cms. A very well made, heavy bladed sword.
