A cased single flintlock shotgun by Dean of London, 16 bore. Re-browned two-staged barrel turned at the girdle and with silver spider foresight, octagonal breech engraved London and gold line touch hole. Barrel length 88cm, overall length 120cm. signed flat bevelled lock engraved with a starburst, figured half stock with chequered grip. Border engraved mounts comprising oval side nail plate, butt plate with two game birds on the tang, trigger guard with acorn finial and a flower head suspended from a ribbon on the bore. All furniture in silver, in a fitted oak case containing accessories and a label.
