German flintlock sporting rifle (circa 1770) by Cuchenreuter, 14 bore, octagonal barrel with brass sights and deep rifling, 72cm barrel, overall length 103cm. Lock, cock and frizzen beautifully engraved also signed with makers name. Fully stocked with all brass furniture including the patch box showing hunting scenes, all furniture is heavily chiselled and made in gilt bronze (provenance John Ruben collection, Aalholm Slot).
